A lot of people play video games with violence in them, like the GTA franchise. However, these games can offer important skills to those who play them, including practice problem solving, communication, and cooperation.

Video games are frowned upon by parents as time-wasters, and worse, several people believe that video games can corrupt the brain. People also believe that violent video games have influenced young children to become violent in their homes and outside in the world. Those who support video games think that video games can help children and adults become smarter and develop a more functioning mind. Games can help with high level thinking skills kids will need in the future.

Just like reading can help you expand your vocabulary and reading level, video games can help your concentration and knowledge increase the skills to be a better listener and paying attention to important details or information.

When a child plays video games, the brain has a real workout. Certain video games require high level thinking skills and heavy concentration. Here are some benefits from children playing video games: they can become better at following instructions, faster at problem solving, logical thinking, quick thinking, develop reading and math skills, and increase concentration. Cooperating with others is also a big benefit from video games. It can determine how kids will interact with each other outside of their homes.

Some people believe that games that are really violent can make a child become more violent and their aggression can increase. Gamers’ thoughts and feelings can be different after they experience video gaming. Interactions with friends and family could also be different. Killings, kicking, stabbing, and shooting can take over the mind of a child and could possibly take over their entire life. There have been some studies on this, but nothing conclusive.

More reasons video games could be bad for children are that they will lack in education and other activities. Lacking in other activities like homework, reading, sports, and interactions could decrease the child’s skills.

But I believe that these games have lots of other benefits. Video games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Apex Legends can get children to pay attention more, be alert, and focus on the main point. The more they play it the more experience they will get. Most likely the #1 game that is the most violent is Grand Theft Auto. Grand Theft Auto has been around for many years and always gets better each time. But it’s not just “violent.” This game can help you bond with other people and make friends and help you make the right decisions in life. Online video games can allow players to talk to others and make friends at their current ability level even when they are not emotionally or physically able to leave their homes. This can help build the skills and confidence necessary to try it in-person. The game is pretty good in the way it brings people together.

Mario Kart is a good game for children to start with. It can give them the fun experience of playing a game where you can try to beat other people to see who is better. Competition is the biggest factor in gaming. A person will not stop until they get what they want and become victorious. Competition can go on for a long time until someone gives up. Any video game dealing with online multiplayer will have some sort of competition in it.

Video games can really have a big impact on kids. I believe that they can help them achieve success in the future. They are really fun to play and take up your time when you are bored. I think children should play video games so they can get the experience and learning skills they need to live.
